Hey Reader, Have you ever written a messy email? It doesn’t have a perfectly self-contained message, and there’s no neat sign-off or sales pitch at the end. It’s not overly polished, and it reads a little bit like something you’d get from a friend. These emails can actually encourage more engagement from your customers than their perfected counterparts. I’m not saying you need to write a bad email or put less care into your email marketing. Absolutely not. It’s very important to keep creating content that delivers value to your customers. However, sharing a ‘messy’ email from time to time can be a very effective way to encourage more conversation. A messy email doesn’t mean a half-hearted email. In fact, you can still share an important message, deliver value, and promote the products or services you offer. It’s about writing in a style that encourages people to reply because you’re sharing content that is open to discussion. Writing an email that is open-ended creates an invitation for your readers to reply with their own input. You can open a channel of communication that you would otherwise struggle to do in a more self-contained email. Think of a messy email like a social media post. They’re usually written in a way that encourages more interaction. They will contain things like questions, thoughts about certain topics, and various ideas you’d love to hear feedback on. One downside of social media posts is that some customers might feel too self-conscious to share their opinions on a public platform. They might have questions they’d love to ask but shy away from the topic they’ve read on your social media page. We all see people freely share their opinions online, sometimes unnecessarily, but we forget about the people who stay quiet. If you turn it into an email, there’s a higher chance people will feel more confident about reaching out or replying. Starting a conversation is one of the best ways to connect more with your customers. Not only do you have the opportunity to help them, but you can also gather valuable feedback on where you can improve their experience. Sometimes, the best emails are the ones with no conclusion. Dear Reader, This week, Meta went silent...we all watched...refreshed our screens...is it back up we wondered. While some use Facebook to mindlessly scroll, many users depend on it for social media marketing and business. And when a big platform shuts down, many feel it in their wallets. I have a feeling many of you reading this often use it for both personal and business reasons. I thought it might be good to send a quick email to partially speak to this and partially speak to why having a...
Hey Reader, It’s easy to look at SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as a quick fix. At first glance, it may seem obvious to you that you can purchase SEO services and find your website appearing at the top of the search results almost instantly. However, this is a very common misunderstanding of how SEO works. It takes time for SEO work to pay off and bring benefits to your business. An easy way to look at SEO is to compare it to visiting a gym when you want to lose weight or build some muscle....
